Cool, I’ve been waiting for a review of these “6 Weeks” DVD sets Lick Library has been putting out
It would be great if you could review the “Shred Guitar in 6 Weeks” and “Rock Guitar in 6 Weeks” sets, as well as this one — I’ve been saving up money for some new DVDs lately and I want to know if these are a good investment.
To be honest, there’s no way I’m paying £75 per set to review them Daniel – I rarely receive free material to review simply because this is a small fan site and companies like Lick Library or Rock House don’t need people like me (with a limited amount of traffic) to review or advertise their products so the vast majority of the instrucional media I review is bought and paid for by myself – clearly this limits what I can, and can’t review.
Albums and EP’s are a different matter ; generally the production costs are lower and musicians looking to increase their profile are quite glad to spend a couple of dollars. Which of course means I’m only too pleased to support new, up-and-coming bands but without having unlimited resources there’s only a finite amount of other writing I can do – which is one of the reasons I introduced news posts.
Bummer dude
Still, major props to this site for reviewing tons of different guitar instructional videos — it really helps out the bedroom guitarists like me who learn primarily from the internet and video medium
